Safety Guidelines

DailyHomelessNews helps people find public resources and safe ways to help. It is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. For local shelter, food, crisis, and social-service referrals in the United States, dial 211.

Sensitive outreach locations are gated when needed. Public pages show a general location label, while approved helpers may see exact details only after host review. Hosts should avoid publishing private camps, sleeping locations, or vulnerable meeting points.

Medium-risk and higher-risk activities can require additional admin review, host vetting, training, supervision, or background checks. This includes field outreach, mobile clinics, events involving minors, and situations where volunteers may have direct unsupervised contact.

Helpers should never go alone to a location they do not know, should follow host instructions, and should not share exact private locations outside the approved event or role. If a listing feels unsafe or inaccurate, report it before attending.
