Dignity-First Policy

DailyHomelessNews is built around dignity-first coverage and volunteering. People experiencing homelessness are neighbors, not content. Hosts, helpers, reviewers, and contributors must protect privacy, consent, and safety in every listing, story, report, and resource update.

Exploitative photos, public shaming, consent-free storytelling, harassment, or content that exposes a person's private location are not allowed. Stories and listings should describe services, public context, and ways to help without turning someone's hardship into a spectacle.

Hosts are expected to set clear volunteer instructions, use gated locations when needed, and avoid collecting more personal information than necessary. Helpers should follow host guidance, respect boundaries, and report anything that feels unsafe, inaccurate, or exploitative.

Concerns can be reported from stories, events, organizations, resources, and opportunities. Reports are reviewed by authorized reviewers or admins, and unsafe content can be archived or removed.
